I just now returned after watching the preview show of green lantern, one day before its release on June 17th.... I went with a lot of expectations to the movie since a massive $200 million dollars have been spent on the film and also i am a fan of the director martin campbell... But the film didn't disappoint me.. The special effects was awesome, so was the music... It had many humorous scenes which made it worth a watch

                                  The plot of the story goes likes this... For many centuries a group of people called green lantern have maintained peace and protected the universe.... the film begins with 3 aliens reaching the place called lost sector... their they find the main nemesis of the film parallax imprisoned deep inside the ground... he is released and gains powers as he consumes the fear of the 3 aliens.. parallax lives on the fear of the people... One of the greatest warriors of the green lantern Abin sur is attacked by parallax and he is not able to stop him... He barely escapes and goes to the nearest inhabited planet to find a successor as he is dying... Meanwhile on earth Hal jordan (ryan reynolds) is a skilled test pilot... He is put in to simulated combat with 2 advanced developed jets... But he tactically proves that they are incapable of flying at high altitudes while crashing is jet as he thinks about his father who died in a plane crash while testing a new jet..The ring chooses hal jordan and brings him to abin sur who gives him his ring and asks him to say the oath to the lantern.
                       Once he says the oath, he is taken to the planet of the lanterns oa where is briefed about the powers of a green lantern... The ring can bring in to reality what its user thinks in his mind.. He is given training in how to use his powers and sinestro ( one of the chief of the green lanterns) engages in a duel with hal and says that he is not fill in to the shoes of abin sur.. dejected hal jordan returns to the earth.. Meanwhile he is love with his childhood sweetheart carol ferris and shows her his newfound powers.. Parallax on the other end is annihilating planets all over the universe.. Sinestro tells the guardians of the lanterns ( wise immortal people who have lived for centuries ) that parallax is difficult to be defeated and he must be killed with his own power which is fear.. The body of abin sur on earth is examined by a scientist called Dr. hector hammond which results in infection by the power of the parallax, as a results his head becomes large and he has psychic powers... he has a secret crush on carol and he causes many accidents to kill his father, who is a senator... Each time green lantern comes and saves him and becomes a hero.. Finally Dr. hector kills his father and hal comes to know that parallax is going to strike earth next... He goest to meet the guardians of the lanterns and promises them that he will kill paralax much to their surprise... He battles with paralax, in the ensuing battle dr. hector is killed and overcomes his fear to kill parallax but dragging him towards the sun.. Finally parallax is destroyed and sinestro recognizes hal are one of the greatest warriors green lantern has seen..
Hal jordan return to earth and shares a romantic moment with his girlfriend and flies towards the sky saying that " he has to find some trouble in the universe "
